Village House

Warren, Vermont

Stonework - Ted Larock

Landscaping - Appalachian Landscaping

The site incorporates an historic home, a bunkhouse, exposed ledge, substantial grade change and remnants of old stone walls and gardens. Ted Larock built the terrace and walls that connect the house with the bunkhouse. The bordering wall of soft ledge contributes to the terrace’s feel of an outdoor room, and faces the Mad River at Warren’s covered bridge. Steps were carved into the ledge to create access the lawn area on the upper plateau. A rustic sitting area is nestled at the top of the ledge steps and meandering paths and walls and gardens extend along the lawn panel.
